Fisher Island is a world-class private island community with two deep-water marinas that can accommodate large yachts. The island has a championship golf course, six restaurants, lounges, an 18-court tennis club, a beach club, a world-renowned spa, a hotel, a charter school and its own gourmet grocery store. Condos and villas surround Biscayne Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. Prices range from $300,000 to $20,000,000. There are only 12 estate homes on the island. Home prices start at $5,000,000 and can reach up to $30,000,000. Membership fees are a onetime $25,000 fee plus ancillary expenses. Equity memberships are a onetime fee of $250,000 and a $20,000 annual fee.
The Beach Club is where many of the club members and residences socialize. The best time to visit is on the weekends during high season or at sunset. Vanderbilt Mansion, the main club house, connects the spa and beach club. The club house, beach club and spa recently underwent a major renovation. This unique community is also home to a tropical aviary.
Location and Access:With the Atlantic Ocean to the east, Biscayne Bay to the south and west and Government Cut to the north, the only way to access Fisher Island is by boat. While driving east on I-395 before the last bridge which leads onto South Beach, make a right into the Fisher Island Ferry Terminal. This is the only way for nonresidents to access the island. (The ferry terminal entrance is directly across from Star Island.) Due to its limited accessibility, the island is one of the most secure communities in Miami Beach. Once on the island, one of the favorite methods of getting around is by golf cart. Many residents have taken this to the next level by outfitting their golf carts to resemble exotic cars.
Fisher Island Units: Palazzo del Mare units are Fisher Island’s most premium properties. Palazzo del Mare sits on the bayside with northeast exposure and has its own private beach. Oceanside I to IV sits oceanfront facing east and also has a private beach. Seaside Village and Seaside Villas have southeast oceanfront exposure. Bayside Village has southern exposure on the bay and is next to the two marinas. The Harborview interior units surround the marina, and the building is next to the hotel. Bayview Village has southern exposure and overlooks the bay. Bayview has southwest and west exposure to the bay and boasts stunning views of Miami’s Downtown skyline.
